Global Performance in Admissions (G.P.A.) | Research, Reviews, and Rankings of College Admissions Firms

The performance standard for comparing college admissions firms.

Global Performance in Admissions—G.P.A.—applies a blind, published evaluation model to normalized company data points and weighted variables, creating one performance record for comparing student development, application packaging, service depth, support access, and value relative to cost.

The ranking’s strongest complete system.

Recent family accounts describe students entering the process with less-than-perfect profiles—including lower GPAs or test scores, limited leadership, uneven activity depth, or other concerns—and working with The Ivy Institute to improve and offset those factors through targeted development, Predictive Admissions™, Application Identity™, and full application execution. Their reported admission to a strong-choice college provides evidence of value added to the process: the firm did not simply polish an already flawless applicant, but helped materially strengthen how the student developed, positioned, and presented the candidacy.

Eight dimensions beneath every overall score.

The evaluation model is centered on how effectively a firm can help students develop meaningful substance, package that substance into a clear application, provide deep and consistent support, and deliver value relative to cost. Outcome evidence, expertise, access, services, reputation, transparency, ethics, and innovation complete the review.

Evidence beneath every score.

The ranking applies the same published variables and weights to normalized public company data. Data points are evaluated before the final ordering is displayed, while evidence-confidence labels distinguish strong documentation from limited public support. Source citations, evidence limitations, normalization rules, and correction procedures remain part of the methodology.

Define the complete research field

One hundred recognized national, international, boutique, specialist, and technology-supported firms enter the review universe. The original top 12 remain fixed in this edition.

Normalize the public evidence

Definitions, cohorts, time periods, service models, and source types are made comparable before scoring.

Run the blind-score evaluation model

Normalized data points are scored against the published weights before the final ordering is displayed. The philosophy emphasizes student development, application packaging, support depth, advisor access, and value relative to cost.

Publish confidence and limitations

Established, developing, and limited evidence labels prevent numerical precision from implying unsupported certainty.

Separate scoring from commercial activity

Advertising, sponsorships, badges, or commercial participation cannot purchase rank, alter a score, suppress criticism, or prevent a correction.

Applying admissions-level scrutiny to the admissions industry.

Global Performance in Admissions was created to apply the same profile-evaluation discipline college admissions consultants use for students to the firms themselves. The result is a structured review of each company’s development strategy, application packaging, expertise, support depth, access, outcomes, reputation, transparency, innovation, and value.

G.P.A. differs from conventional ranking publications by building each evaluation from a broad public-information record rather than relying on one survey, one list, or one company claim. The model is designed to identify, normalize, and synthesize available evidence across the places where firms describe their work and where students and families describe their experiences.

01

Official company record

Firm websites, service pages, leadership biographies, counselor credentials, published methodologies, pricing information, outcome claims, case studies, company updates, and other official materials establish the documented operating model.

02

Family review record

Public review platforms—including Google and the Better Business Bureau—are examined for recurring themes involving communication, responsiveness, service delivery, expectations, satisfaction, disputes, and resolution patterns.

03

Social and discussion record

Public social platforms and discussion communities, including Reddit and Facebook, are reviewed for repeated student and parent experiences, questions, recommendations, concerns, and real-world descriptions of how support is delivered.

04

Performance calibration

Evidence is normalized and weighted so visibility alone does not determine rank. Scores are calibrated toward the factors most connected to student development, application readiness, family experience, support depth, and value relative to cost.

The G.P.A. objective

To convert a fragmented public record into a clearer performance score—giving families a consistent way to compare what firms offer, how deeply they support students, how their approaches differ, and how documented experiences align with the promises they publish.

Measure the firm with the scrutiny it applies to students.

Start with the top 20, continue through all 100 firms, compare category scores, and use G.P.A.’s evidence-based model to understand the performance, depth, approach, and value behind every position.
